Lighter cabins for cable cars & people movers.

Cabin shells, roof modules, interior and exterior cladding from natural-fibre composite — light, weather-resistant and with a high-quality visible surface. We also obtain fire-protection certifications, for example to EN 45545 or TL 1010.

What we deliver

What Fibryx delivers for your cabin.

From concept to series: natural-fibre composite designed for the requirements of cable cars and people movers.

Components & applications

What we manufacture for Cable Cars & People Movers.

Cabin shells

Large-area and light — with a defined visible surface.

Cabin roofs & roof modules

Stiff and light as a sandwich part, weather-resistant.

Interior cladding & seat shells

Light interior parts with good damping.

Chair components

Seat and back shells for chairlifts — natural-fibre composite instead of plastic and foam.

People-mover & shuttle cladding

Front, rear and side parts for compact vehicles.

Station & carriage covers

Robust cladding, modular and delivered ready to fit.

Lighter cabins — less load on rope and drive.

Benefit

Lighter — and more economical.

NFRP reduces not only weight but directly the part cost — with properties comparable to GFRP.

Why NFRP lowers the part cost

Less weight = less material

Lower density and an optimized layup reduce material usage per part — directly cost-effective.

High automation

Semi-automated impregnation and digitally defined processes reduce manual work and manufacturing cost.

Manufacturing efficiency

Short cycle time through the reusable vacuum hood and ready-to-fit delivery save follow-up costs.

Why natural fibre fits here

In a cable-car cabin, every kilo counts several times over

With cable cars and people movers, cabin weight does not just affect a single vehicle: it multiplies by the number of cabins on the system and acts on rope, drive and energy demand. Lighter cabin shells, roofs and cladding create room for more payload or a leaner design.

At the same time, the requirements are high: weather, UV and temperature cycles in continuous operation, high-quality visible surfaces for passengers, and fire protection. Natural-fibre composite brings low weight and good damping. Where needed, we set fire behaviour through additives in the resin system and obtain the necessary certifications, for example to EN 45545 or TL 1010.

Material

Why natural-fibre composite makes sense in the cabin.

Hemp and flax fibres bring properties that benefit the cabin, the installation and passengers alike.

Light and stiff

Natural fibres have a much lower density than glass fibres. That reduces part weight — and with it the load the whole installation carries.

Quiet in the cabin

Natural fibres damp vibration and sound better than glass fibres. That benefits acoustics and ride comfort in the cabin.

Raw material from Europe

Hemp and flax come from European cultivation. We state the fibre content and CO₂ footprint for your part — as reliable figures rather than blanket promises.

A process made for natural fibres

We developed our process specifically for natural fibres: high fibre volume fractions, controlled moisture and reproducible quality — without an expensive autoclave.

Built for the mountain

Resin system and gelcoat protect the part against moisture, frost and UV. Climate-cycle and ageing tests are a fixed part of our development.

A look of its own

Conventionally painted or with visible natural fibre as a design feature — for example in the interior or on the chair shell.

Working together

How we work with cabin builders.

What matters in cabin building, we make binding in the quotation — not at first-article inspection.

Concept study for your part

Material, layup and design from a single source — with a weight and cost comparison against your current part.

Paintable surface

We openly name gelcoat and resin system and align painting conditions and paint system with you before the first part goes into the paint shop.

Dimensionally accurate, no rework

We agree wall thicknesses, radii, overlaps and tolerances together. Sample panels for your bonding and joining trials come with it.

Documents for acceptance

Cable cars are approved under Regulation (EU) 2016/424 and harmonised standards. We provide test reports, certificates and first-article documentation for your acceptance.

Modular & ready to ship

Cabins are shipped worldwide and assembled on site. We deliver ready-to-fit modules — with transport racks and defined storage conditions.

From prototype to series

Sample parts and prototypes from a quantity of one, series of up to 5,000 parts per year — also as additional capacity alongside your regular supplier.

In practice

Already realised — with measurable results.

The easy entry point

Start with an NFRP concept study.

You don't have to commit right away: send us an existing GFRP part, a drawing or an idea. We assess the potential — and you see whether the path is worth it.

  • Potential assessment: weight, cost and properties
  • Direct comparison NFRP vs. your current GFRP part
  • A concrete assessment on the real part — no theory
  • A clear recommendation for the next steps

Frequently asked

Questions from this sector

Which cable-car cabin and people-mover parts are suitable for natural-fibre composite?
Above all large-area cladding parts: cabin shells, cabin roofs, interior cladding and seat shells, as well as front, rear and side parts of people movers and autonomous shuttles. Station and carriage covers are also possible. Load-bearing structures such as the hanger or the carriage itself are not our focus.
How much weight can be saved?
Compared with GFRP, up to 30% lower part weight is possible. The specific figure depends on geometry, load case and requirements — we determine it for your part in the concept study.
How do you handle fire protection and standards?
We obtain the necessary fire-protection certifications for you — for example to EN 45545 or TL 1010. Where needed, we adapt the material with additives in the resin system so that your part meets the requirements of your installation or vehicle. You receive test reports and certificates for your acceptance.
Do the parts withstand weather and UV in continuous operation?
We set weather and UV resistance through additives and a suitable surface or paint finish. For exterior parts such as cabin shells and roofs, this is part of the design from the start.
What volumes can you produce?
From prototypes and sample parts to series production of up to 5,000 parts per year — including painting and assembly. That fits the typical batch sizes in cable-car and people-mover construction well.
