When the surface itself is the argument

On exhibition, interior and design parts, one property comes to the fore that is a side issue in technical applications: the appearance of the material. Natural fibre has a look of its own that can be used deliberately as a visible surface instead of being painted or covered — and that carries a sustainability message without needing to be explained.

In practice, large-area design and exhibition parts are transported, assembled and dismantled again. Lower weight here does not affect consumption or payload but handling and logistics costs. For one-offs and small series, a manufacturing route without high tooling investment is the decisive point.

What does a natural-fibre visible surface look like?
The fibre structure remains visible and produces a distinctive matt look. Depending on the fibre form — non-woven, woven fabric or non-crimp fabric — the appearance differs, which can be used for design purposes.
Are one-off pieces economically feasible?
Yes. The manufacturing route is designed for small and single series and requires no investment in highly automated tooling.
How large can the parts be?
The focus is on large-area parts — that is exactly where the sandwich build-up plays to its strength, delivering stiffness at low weight. The specific limit is clarified from your geometry.
Can the surface be coloured or painted?
Both are possible — but with natural fibre that is often not the aim. A topcoat for a defined surface is part of the standard build-up; whether the fibre stays visible is a design decision.
